Run for the Board!
Thank you for your interest in running for the Just Food Co-op Board of Directors this year! The deadline for submission of an application is August 22, 2011, and the election will be held at the Annual Meeting on October 15. The documents below are intended to give you a better understanding about the role of a Board member, as well as inform you of the nomination process and timeline. The application can be downloaded here as well.
Those considering running for the Board are invited to meet with members of the nominating committee to review/discuss mutual expectations and understandings about the responsibilities of Board members, as well as the experience the applicant offers the Board. The nominating committee forwards to the Board the names of applicants it recommends the Board support for nomination. Please contact one of the nominating committee members if you would like to schedule one of these optional meetings: Ann Iijima (aiijima@carleton.edu), Dirk Peterson (bigwoods@fmwildblue.com), or Lee Runzheimer (www.idinsight.com).
A member-owner also may be nominated for Board membership by procuring at least ten signatures of current member-owners. These nominations should be submitted to the nominating committee along with the “Board of Directors Application” by September 5, 2011, so that the election mailing introducing candidates for the Board of Directors includes the same information for all candidates.
