Just Food Co-op

Planet Patch

In June of 2006, Just Food Co-op began the Planet Patch program, where customers receive one Planet Patch (worth 5 cents) for each shopping bag that they reuse. Customers can either cash in 20 Planet Patches for $1 off their purchase or they can choose to donate that Patch to a local environmental, food or agriculture-related initiative or organization chosen by Just Food. To date, Just Food Co-op has donated over $1,200 through this program.

Recipients have included: Cannon River Watershed Partnership, Mill Towns Trail, RENew Northfield, League of Women Voters, Howard Bowers Fund, Maltby Science Center, Northfield Food Shelf, American P.I.E., Land Stewardship Project, Northfield Community Gardeners.

Just Change

The Co-op also provides a way for customers to donate their change to a local cause that fits with Just Food’s mission. Since October of 2006, Co-op shoppers have donated over $800 to local causes.

Recipients have included:
The Northfield Union of Youth, Northfield Food Shelf, Northfield Citizens Online, Girl Scouts, Northfield Youth Sports Collaborative.

Community Donations

We support a healthy, vibrant community. To that end, Just Food donates to many local organizations throughout the year through sponsorships, gifts of products, and financial donations.
