Greetings cooperators! This article contains the Board’s annual member patronage announcement, an invitation to the Annual Meeting, as well as information about the upcoming board election.
PATRONAGE:The Co-op will not be declaring patronage this year.We finished our fiscal year with a very modest profit and the Board has concluded that it is not fiscally prudent to declare patronage this year while we are still looking to raise funds for our much-needed store expansion project. We continue to look forward to offering you a beautifully expanded store in the coming months. Thank you for your understanding and support of Just Food Co-op as we plan for a bright future. Please consider investing in C-shares or making a generous donation (which is not tax-deductible) to support our expansion project.
ANNUAL MEETING: The Board of Directors warmly invites you to this year’s combined Harvest Fest and Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 12, at Just Food Co-op from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.The business meeting will be held at noon.Please watch for in-store announcements and email for more details. We hope to see you there!
ELECTION:A paper balloting method of voting will be used this year. There are five (5) seats available for this election cycle, with only three (3) candidates running for the Board. Given that the outcome of the election is predetermined, it seemed wise to have our ownership cast ballots in the store or at the Annual Meeting rather than pay for the online voting service and the associated all-member mailing we have used in the recent past. It is still important to vote so that we have a quorum and the election is valid. You will find the ballot box in the store beginning Monday, September 23, until 11:30 a.m. on the day of the Annual Meeting, which is Saturday, October 12.
If you would prefer that we send you a paper ballot, please contact the store directly (507-650-0106), and we will mail you a ballot that you can mail back to the store to be counted.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN:Our capital campaign is being relaunched this fall and you may already have been contacted about investing in the building project. There will also be a table at the Annual Meeting to get any questions answered that you might have. We are so looking forward to achieving our financial investment goal and breaking ground in January 2020!
