Berry Picker’s Reward Muffins


2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter, softened

1 1/4 cup sugar

2 eggs

8 oz. sour cream

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup fresh or frozen berries

2 tablespoons sugar

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg


Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside

In a separate bowl, beat together butter and sugar. Add eggs , sour cream, and vanilla to the butter mixture and stir until well combined. With a spoon, mix the dry ingredients with the butter mixture, just until moistened.

Fold in berries.

Mix the last three ingredients, the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.

Fill muffin cups 3/4 full, and sprinkle the sugar mixture on top.
