Tuesday October 22nd at 6:30 p.m.
Please join us on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:30 p.m. when our featured speaker will be Julie Salato, Executive Director of the Celiac Center of MN. Julie founded the Celiac Center of MN three years ago, when she and her then-six-year-old daughter felt isolated and overwhelmed by their own Celiac diagnosis. Over the course of the past three years, Julie has played an active role in advocacy in the gluten free community. She has worked with families to get gluten free menus implemented at schools, trained food service and restaurant workers, spoken to community leaders to promote awareness, organized events, including the very popular children’s day camp, The Gluten Detectives, and is currently working on a restaurant certification program. On October 22nd, she’ll share with us her expertise on parenting a gluten free child, how to navigate the mental health challenges of maintaining a gluten free diet, how to spread awareness in our own communities, and new developments in research on Celiac disease. This is one presentation you don’t want to miss”
