Some ways to improve digestibility and the nutritional benefit are freshly grinding, fermenting, or soaking these seeds. Lois Taylor and Jeanine Taylor will introduce you to one of the four food groups which Weston A Price discovered to prevent dental problems, chronic illness, and infections, and get you started on preparing them in the most optimal way. Come learn how to promote health for you and your family. Lois is a long time registered nurse who has studied the medical correlation of health to a nutrient dense diet. Jeanine  is the Grocery Buyer for Just Food Co-op and a Weston A Price devotee.

Schultz Eggs Returning

Just Food will be lifting its precautionary suspension of sales on Schultz Farms Eggs this coming week.

In response to a recall of a limited number of eggs from Schultz Organic Farm on Oct 20th, Just Food Co-op made the decision to use extra precaution and pull all eggs from Larry Schultz.

At this time, the FDA investigation has concluded and no additional eggs have been linked to the salmonella outbreak. It is still unclear to the Schultz family and investigators what the source of the salmonella was, but the farm will follow their own protocols and procedures set out by the FDA to try and identify any potential sources going forward.

We look forward to getting Schultz’s Organic eggs back on our shelves, and the opportunity to support an important member of our local food shed.

CANCELLED: Create Your Own Flower Essence Remedy class

Dr. Edward Bach created flower essence remedies and his popular Rescue Remedy in response to his growing concern that the maladies he was treating in his homeopathic practice were of an emotional origin. Using the plant ‘signatures’ and working with a body of practitioners collaborating, Flower Essence Services has expanded upon Dr. Bach’s work in discovering the emotional medicines that our native plants can provide. The applications of flower essences span from grieving a loss to a tendency to over-control situations to resolving interpersonal conflicts.

In this workshop we will talk through the basics of flower essence therapy, look at some of the tools available to guide you through choosing the best essences for a condition, and ultimately create a personalized flower essence blend for each participant.

Instructor Robb Doser has studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, Aromatherapy, and Homeopathy and works as a broker of natural products within the natural foods community. He’s had the opportunity to study with some of the best flower essence therapists in the country and is happy to share what he has learned.

Schultz Eggs Recalled

UPDATE October 28: Just Food will be lifting its precautionary suspension of sales on Schultz Farms Eggs this coming week.

________
October 20:
Larry Schultz Organic Farm has issued a voluntary precautionary recall of some of its eggs following a Salmonella outbreak connected with these eggs. At this time, it does not appear any eggs Just Food carries are included in the recall, and we are confident in the safety of these eggs. However, Just Food recall policy calls for an abundance of caution. Accordingly, Just Food is voluntarily pulling all Schultz eggs and products made with Schultz eggs from our shelves and is refunding customers who return these eggs and/or products.

The Larry Schultz’s precautionary recall only includes cartons and cases of eggs that do not have a “Sell by” date on them; all eggs sold at Just Food Co-op come in cases that include “Sell by” dates.

Larry Schultz has spoken with us, and we are maintaining communication with him throughout this challenging time for his farms.

A copy of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture release is at the front end, or you can click here to see it in full.
