Grazing specialist Howard Moechnig will be at the farm to explore the grazing systems used by the Minar’s at their farm.
Topics to be covered during the Aug. 7 field day include:
*Environmental impact of grazing.
*Pasture grass species mixtures and grazing management to produce milk solely off pasture.
*Management needed to produce grass-finished beef.
*Grazing management during periods of extreme heat.
*An efficient milking parlor design.
*Marketing to local markets using on-farm processing.
